Robert Allen Nelson

Robert Allen Nelson, or better known as Bob, was born on February 22, 1960, in Chicago, IL and passed away at Vanderbilt Medical Center on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 65.

Bob was the son of Robert William Nelson and Barbara Ann Tomsky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Ben Tomsky.

For numerous years Bob worked as an excavator, welder, and fabricator in Illinois where he took pride in every project he placed his hands on. He also had many hobbies he enjoyed outside of work like riding motorcycles or watching a race.

Bob is survived by his Wife: Lisa Nelson of Cookeville, TN; son: Kyle Nelson of Willowbrook IL; and granddaughter: Alyson of Berwyn, IL.

No services are planned at this time; His final request was to have his ashes spread on the land that he loved. Anyone that got to know him is welcome to visit and pay their respects.

He will be missed by all who know him. He was always positive, motivated and made friends easily.
