Ricky Dwight Brown

Ricky Dwight Brown age 60 passed away this life March 8, 2023 at the home of his sister Versie Derossitt in Silver Point, TN after a brief illness of lung cancer.  He was being cared for by family and Gentiva Hospice Care. 

He was born July 28, 1962 in Gainesboro, TN to the late J.B. and A.V. Johnson Brown.  He was of Church of Christ faith

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Elizabeth (Tooter) Garrett and Martha Ann Loftis; two brothers, Gary Lee and Ronnie Wayne Brown; maternal grandparents, Sanford and Lizzie Haney Johnson and paternal grandparents, Ed Lee and Cora Bell Jones Brown.

He was self employed gardener, yard mower, landscaper and small odd jobs.  He had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing, bow hunting and arrow head hunting which he has a large collection.  He also enjoyed art (drawing and painting) and also wood carving.  He loved animals and would spoil them.

Survivors include brother, Jerry Brown of Baxter; sisters, Janice Haugk, Versie (Kenneth) Derossitt both of Silver Point;  Margie (Steve) Moore of Sparta, TN and Mary Rodgers of Baxter; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

He chose cremation and the family will honor his wishes.  Graveside services are planned for Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2 PM at New Salem Cemetery.
