Richmond Meadows

Funeral services for Mr. Richmond Meadows, 78, of the Flynns Lick community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, February 13, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Meadows Family Cemetery in the Whites Bend community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 - 9 P.M., and Sunday from noon until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Meadows passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005, at his residence. He was born August 28, 1926, in Jackson County to the late Aaron Meadows and Junie Whitaker Meadows. On July 5, 1949, he was married to Thelma Spivey Meadows, who survives. Mr. Meadows was a farmer and a member of the Flynns Creek Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Jackson County Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Jerry and Gayle Meadows; 2 Brothers: Hubert and J.D. Meadows; and 2 Sisters: Rose Markham and Gladys Janss. Survivors include his wife: Thelma Spivey Meadows of the Flynns Lick community of Jackson County, TN; 2 Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Richie & Debbie Meadows of Gainesboro, TN, and Larry & Bonnie Meadows of the Flynns Lick community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-Law: Nancy & Alvin West of Bloomington Springs, TN; and 1 Sister: Margaret Lynn of Lebanon, TN. 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Bro. Morgan Medlin and Bro. Dewayne Chaffin will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Meadows Family Cemetery by contacting Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
