Richard "Dick" Hamlet

Funeral services for Mr. Richard "Dick" Hamlet, 72, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN. He was born July 23, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Hamlet and Mildred McCoin Hamlet. He was a logger, and loved to fish and tend cattle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 Brothers: Gene, Willard, Louis Elmer, Joe, and Jack Hamlet; and 1 Step-Son: Jeff Stafford. Survivors include 1 Son: Adam Phann of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Step - Son: Doug Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters: Susan Kay Hamlet Hajroja of Florida, Jennifer Hamlet of Knoxville, TN, and Rachel Caraway of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Step-Daughter: Audra Owsley of Burkesville, KY; 1 Sister: Cora Bigelow of Cookeville, TN; 13 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Pharris Cemetery or to help with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home.
