Reba Strong

Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Strong, 87, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Strong passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born May 8, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Boin Bradford Maybry and Mary Jane Maybry. On May 21, 1939, she was married to the late Comer Strong. She was a grocery store owner and seamstress, and a member of the Burristown Assembly of God. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Shirley Ray and David C. Strong; 2 Brothers: Lenard and Lewis Maybry; and 1 Sister: Ivory Maybry Bledso. Survivors include 3 Sons: Billy B. Strong and wife, Hattie, of Algood, TN, Eddie H. Strong and wife, Betty, and Douglas B. Strong and wife, Virginia, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Rosemary Strong Sharpe and husband, Gene, of Nashville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Danny and Steve Strong, Lisa Scantland and Chip Strong, John David Carwile, and Gene Sharpe, Jr.; and 11 Great-Grandchildren: Nicholas and Hannah Strong, Sara and Annie Strong, Jessie and David Strong, Jake and Jaryn Scantland, Christina and Christopher Pierce, Johna Carwile, and Jeffery Sharpe. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Danny Strong will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lynn Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
