Raymond H. Roberts

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond H. Roberts, 90, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at his residence. He was born February 22, 1926, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clarence Roberts and Laura B. Roberts. On October 5, 1946, he was married to Mattie Louise Roberts, who survives. He worked in construction laying concrete curbing. He was a member of the Cubb Creek Church of Christ, and loved fishing and farming. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: V. Anita Solomon; 1 Brother: Lovell Roberts; 3 Sisters: Bessie Roberts, Essie Settles, and Lola Forkum; 2 Nephews: Jimmy Joe Roberts and Tommy Tembs; and other family members. Survivors include his Wife: Mattie Louise Roberts of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Timothy Raymond Roberts of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Vanna Dodson; 3 Grandsons: Stephen Solomon, Paul Solomon, and Brandon Givens; 6 Great Grandchldren: Eva C. Solomon, Brianna Solomon, Trenton Solomon, Emily Givens, Mason Dodson, and Kadon Dodson; and 1 Sister: Lula Smith of Murfreesboro, TN. Other relatives and friends also survive. Bro.
