Ray E. Flatt

Funeral services for Mr. Ray E. Flatt, 74, of Bloomington Springs, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Highway in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M. and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at his residence in Bloomington Springs, TN. He was born November 29, 1940, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Everett and Onida Carrington Flatt. He was married to June Flatt, who survives. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force having served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was also retired after 24 years of working for the Herald-Citizen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Billy C. Flatt and Clarence Flatt; and 2 Sisters: Roberta Flatt and Betty Pergande. Survivors include his Wife: June Flatt of Bloomington Springs, TN; 2 Sons: Steven (Michelle) Flatt of Nebraska and Simon Flatt of Florida; 1 Daughter: Kellie (Tony) Nash of Cookeville, TN; 1 Brother: Carl (Betty) Flatt of Bloomington Springs, TN; and 3 Sisters: Diana Lamons, Jodi (Harry) Scarlett, and Joyce Wiggins, all of Nashville, TN. 12 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Grandchild also survive.
