Randy Heady

Age 61

Randall Earl Heady was born December 29, 1963, in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN at the age of 61.


He was the son of Willie Earl Heady and Bobbie Sue Lynn Heady. He was employed for 28 years at Carwile Mechanical in Cookeville, TN.  He married Joyce Ann Lee Heady on September 8, 2001.  


Randy was a proud resident of Jackson County, TN.  He took pride in representing his county in various ways.  He served as a County Commissioner for 8 years.  He was elected as Jackson County Mayor in 2018 and currently holds that position.  Randy was currently the Pastor for New Hope Baptist Church in Gainesboro, TN.  He has held the position of chairman for numerous committees. 


He was preceded in death by his late wife: Rosetta Lynn Hix Heady; and his parents.


Survivors include his wife: Joyce Heady of Freestate, TN; sons: Chas (Rachel) Heady of Warrenburg, MO, Calvin Heady of Clinton, MO,  Justin (Lindsay) Cochran of Gainesboro, TN; daughters: Amber Lou Heady of Lafayette, TN, Franny (Robert) Hogan of Castalian Springs, TN; brother: Jeff (Jennifer) Heady of Gainesboro, TN; sister: Karen (Kelly) Cassetty of Whitleyville, TN and Kathy (Rex) Ledbetter of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren: Gracie Reece, Nathan Cochran, Braiden Cochran, Kori Lynn Heady, Chelsia Mae Heady, Sadie Marie Hogan, Liam Steven Hogan and Hadley Grace Cochran.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.  


Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm and again on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 9 am to 1 pm at  Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Wes Thompson and Pastor Bobby Frazier officiating.  Burial will follow in Pharris Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN.


In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Randy's honor to any of the following:  The Share to Care Foundation, New Hope Baptist Church - Care Center, Bus Ministry, and Breakfast Ministry by contacting the funeral home.
