Ralph Carver

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Carver, 72, of the Trace Creek community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Richmond Chapel Church of Christ in Jackson County, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Sunday at the church from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born June 1, 1941, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Goldman Carver and Eva Forkum Carver. On April 20, 1963, he was married to Vanita Carver, who survives. He was a farmer and livestock trader. He was a member of the Richmond Chapel Church of Christ and the Cattleman's Association. He was the former Assessor of Property in Jackson County, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Roy Carver; and 1 Sister: Marilyn Mayfield. Survivors include his Wife: Vanita Carver of the Trace Creek community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Daughter: Penny (Jay) Cassetty of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Daniel (Chelsie) Dawes, Taylor Brooke Dawes, Raechel Cassetty, and Leah Cassetty; 1 Sister: Charlene (Lem) McClain of Cookeville, TN; 1 Sister-in-Law: Denise Carver of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Nieces: Torri Carver and Tammy Cobb; 2 Nephews: Sammy (Shanda) Brown and Rux McClain; 1 Great Nephew: Ben Hargis; and 1 Great Niece: Beth Hargis. Bro. Dennis Smith will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jackson - Smith County Youth Camp or St. Jude Children's Hospital by contacting the funeral home.
