Funeral services for Mrs. Plitha R. Petty, 101, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 P.M. - 9 P. M., and on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Petty passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born November 13, 1907, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Tom and Tex Haney Ransom. She was married to the late Robert Dillard Petty, who passed away February 4, 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Roy York Petty and Glen Harold Petty; and 2 Brothers: Otis Lee Ransom and Ray Ransom. Survivors include 1 Son: Alvis "Bo" Petty of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Grandson: Robert "Tootie" (Karen) Petty of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Great-Grandchildren: Kendra, Kaleigh, Kara Grace, and Kendall Petty; and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Polly Petty. Her caregivers at Mabry Health Care Center, previous caregivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
