P.J. "Pete" Stafford

Graveside services for Mr. P.J. "Pete" Stafford, 80, of Portland, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 A.M. until leaving for the graveside service. He passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. He was born November 16, 1932, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Van Stafford and Ethel Stafford. On September 27, 1968, he was married to Brenda Stafford, who survives. He was a security guard, and a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Timmy Lee Stafford; and 1 Sister: Jean Ashley. Survivors include his Wife: Brenda Stafford of Old Hickory, TN; 1 Daughter: Lisa (Andy) Alderidge of Old Hickory, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Katelyn Alderidge and Beth (L.B.) Stringfellow; 1 Great Grandchild: Elizabeth Stringfellow; 3 Brothers: Freeman Stafford of Gainesboro, TN, Woody Stafford of Antioch, TN, and Ronnie Stafford of Joelton, TN; and 2 Sisters: Rhoda Williams of Pleasant View, TN, and Lucille Stanley of Joelton, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stafford family by contacting the funeral home.
