Funeral services for Mr. Philip Neal Gentry, 65, of Granville, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Double Springs Church of Christ in Putnam County, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Thursday at the church from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, in Watertown, TN. He was born October 29, 1951, in Memphis, TN, to Roy Gentry and Frances Gentry. He was married to Garlene Gentry, who survives. He was a public utility representative inspector, and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Double Springs Church of Christ, and loved leading singing. He also loved riding his mules. He was preceded in death by his Father-in-Law: Garlin Jr. Mathis; his Paternal Grandparents: Winters Gentry and A.V. Gentry; and his Maternal Grandparents: James Tilley and Ann Summs. Survivors include his Wife: Garlene Gentry of Granville, TN; 1 Son: Kevin Hawkins of Baxter, TN; 1 Daughter: Melissa Gentry Walker of Hilham, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Morgan Hawkins, Brooke Walker, Madison Hawkins, and Paige Walker; 1 Expected Great Grandchild: Sawyer Lamb; his Parents: Roy and Frances Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Larry (Teresia) Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Teresa (Herby) Wheeler of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sisters-in-Law: Pam Carter of Baxter, TN, and Annetta Neal of Granville, TN; 1 Brother-in-Law: Rodney Mathis of Bloomington Springs, TN; and his Mother-in-Law: Manda Mathis of Bloomington Springs, TN. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Mike Webb and Bro. Eric Collins will officiate at the services.
