Graveside services for Mrs. Pauline Hix, 85, of the Dudneys Hill community of Jackson County, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Tuesday from 9 A.M. until time to leave for the graveside service. She passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 15, 1929, in Nashville, TN, to the late Owen Smith and Venela Dycus Smith. On February 6, 1948, she was married to the late Charles Reed Hix, who passed away February 3, 2002. She was a factory employee and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Rosetta Hix Heady; 1 Sister: Jewell Smith; and 1 Half-Sister: Barbara Vaughn. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Frances Swezea of Gainesboro, TN, and Nancy (David) Bane of Lebanon, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Carmen Brown, Casey (Justin) Moore, Chas (Rachel) Heady, Calvin Heady, and Dillon Bane; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Noah Brown, Emma Brown, Allie Moore, Jace Moore, Gracie Reece (Heady), Kori Heady, and Chelsi Heady; 2 Half-Brothers: Bill Smith and his wife, Marsha of Murfreesboro, TN, and J.B. Smith and his wife, Sandra of Murfreesboro, TN; and 1 Half-Sister: Katherine Rogers and husband, Fred of Readyville, TN. Bro. Tom Lyles will officiate at the services.
