Funeral services for Mrs. Ozina M. Hix, 75, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Flynn Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Hix passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born September 12, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Benjamin Franklin Dean and Tilda Mae Dean. On May 28, 1948, she was married to the late Willie Calvin (W.C.) Hix, who passed away May 5, 1989. She was a homemaker, a member of the Sugar Creek Church of Christ, and an avid quilter. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 Sons: Roland, Roy, Benny Mack, William (Bill) Howard, and Larry Bruce Hix; 1 Daughter: Susie Mae Gifford Hix; 1 Brother: Jasper Dean; and 3 Sisters: Lou Dean, Lucy Sawyer, and Ruth Smith. Survivors include 1 Son: Louis Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Ethel and Carl Reagan of Cookeville, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Candy Mullins, Scotty Hix, Jerry Michael Gifford, Jr., Shelia Reagan, and Kevin Reagan; and 6 Great-Grandchildren: Daniel Gifford, Parker and Rhianna Gifford, Ashley and Kirsten Hix, and Madison Reagan.
