Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Lorean Hix, 83, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, June 25, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Hix passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007, at the Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born February 10, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clay Swezea and Curlie Witcher Swezea. On August 9, 1941, she was married to the late Cordell H. Hix, who passed away February 17, 1987. She was retired from Nielsen Moulding, and was a member of the Gipson Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Rue Lee Swezea, Willard Swezea, and B. Dow Swezea. Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-law: Bobby and Brenda Hix of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Wanda and Jack Long of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Tonya J. Long, Jack W. (Sue) Long, Jr., Kelly Jo (Frankie) Hix, Marcy (Nathan) Netherton, Daniel Lee (Roxann) Hix, Daniel Jacob Hix; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Jackson Long, John Long, Gunnar Netherton, Zachary Netherton, Cade & Collin Randolph; 1 Brother: Kenneth Swezea of Goodlettsville, TN; and Special Family Members: Patricia Stone and Kim Howard.
