Olene Haile Long

Funeral services for Mrs. Olene Haile Long, 88, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born December 25, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Thomas "W.T." Haile and Evie Anderson Haile. On April 24, 1947, she was married to the late Earnest O. Long, who passed away June 21, 2004. She was a bookkeeper at Brown Meadows Furniture Co. and D.T. McCall's. She was a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Omer Haile, Ogle Haile, and Raymond Roscoe Haile; and 2 Sisters: Pearl Haile and Rozelle Kirby. Survivors include 2 Sons: Jerry (JoAnn) Long of Livingston, TN, and Tim Long of Cookeville, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Andrew (Leslie) Long of Hermitage, TN, and Christa Megan Long of Nashville, TN; 2 Great Grandchildren: Allison Ann Long and William Earnest Long; 1 Sister-in-Law: Sue Reynolds of Livingston, TN; 1 Nephew: Kenneth (Brenda) Kirby; 1 Niece: Brenda Cook; and 2 Great Nephews: Phillip Kirby and Rob Cook.
