Funeral services for Mr. Norvel L Phillips, 81, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 Noon - 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born February 12, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Bedford Phillips and Nannie Lou Phillips. On July 3, 1954, he was married to the late Wilma Faye Patrick Phillips, who passed away June 29, 2010. He was a factory worker, and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Jeffery Lynn Phillips; 1 Son-in-Law: Billy C. Anderson; 5 Brothers: Hershel Phillips, James Phillips, Campbell Phillips, Dalton Phillips, and Charlie Phillips; and 2 Sisters: Ozina Buck and Betty Hix. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Pam (Wayne) Anderson and Kim Anderson (Steve) Scantland, all of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Holly Anderson, Shaun (Ashley) Anderson, Shannon (Tessa) Anderson, and Kendall Scantland; 4 Great Grandchildren: Rylee Anderson, Brodee Anderson, Preslee Anderson, and Bentlie Anderson; 1 Brother: Eber (Jo) Phillips of Medway, OH; and 1 Sister: Ruth (Gene) Carmack of Gainesboro, TN.
