Nethel Poteet Birdwell

Funeral services for Mrs. Nethel "Lois" Poteet Birdwell, 80, of Franklin, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 1 P.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. She was born June 24, 1934, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Everette and Mary Brewington Poteet. She was married to the late Edward D. Birdwell who passed away July 19, 1999. She worked in Bible and book sales and was a member of the Roseville Church of Christ in Roseville, Michigan. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Moline VanHooser, Molden Meadows, and Elease Anderson and 2 Brothers: Robert Poteet and Everette Poteet, Jr. Survivors include 1 Son: Barry (Michele) Birdwell of Melbourne Beach, Florida; 1 Daughter: Beverly (Robert) Blair of Nashville, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Jesse (Lacey) Blair of Nashville, TN, Zachary Blair of Nashville, TN, and Alexander Blair of Houston, TX; 2 Brothers: Sam (Carol) Poteet of Gainesboro, TN and Mitchel Poteet of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sisters: Frances (Hollis) Walker of Cookeville, TN and Ethel (Claude) Hackett of Franklin, TN; and a Special Friend: Ray Nowinski of Warren, Michigan.
