Nellie Crabtree

Nellie Vivalee Dyer Crabtree was born December 10, 1937 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 87.

She was the daughter of Clifton Hannibel Dyer and Lola B. Jackson Dyer.  She was a seamstress and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Crabtree who passed away on June 7,  2021, son, Kenneth Crabtree who passed away on September 20, 1981, daughter, Vicki Pigg who passed away on March 31, 2023, brothers, Terry Dyer, Tony Dyer, Stanley Dyer, sisters, Jo Ann Hollers, Lovia Cowgill.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Donna) Crabtree of Cookeville; brothers, Melvin Dyer and Russell Dyer both of IL and Roger Dyer of Oklahoma; sisters, Wanda Allen of Missouri and Carla Doughty of Hillsboro, IL; grandchildren, Heather (Jonathan) Conner, Amanda Pigg, Josh (Ashley) Crabtree, Elizabeth (Chris) Mabery; great grandchildren, Bryce (Tiara) Conner, Jackson (Jenna) Conner, Tucker Crabtree, Bella Mabery, Allie Mabery, Gunner Crabtree, Ella Conner, Danner Crabtree, Rhyder Crabtree, Kaven Pigg; great great grandchild, Caroline Conner. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, 2-8 pm and Thursday 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Mabery officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Hill Flatt Cemetery.
