Nell Cowan

Funeral services for Nell Cowan, 89, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 11 A.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. She went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2021. She was born August 26, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Bill Mathis and Ara Godsey Mathis. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper, and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. She was a blessing to all who knew her. A special thanks to all who helped take care of her during her final days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband: Tom Cowan; and 2 Brothers: Eugene Mathis and Odell Mathis. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Gayle (Lynch) Quigley, of Charlotte, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Adam (Jessie) Quigley, Alysia (Kurtis) Huffman, and Luke (Brianna) Quigley; 7 Great Grandchildren: Michael Quigley, Grace Quigley, Ethan Huffman, Beckett Huffman, Addelyn Huffman, Lyla Quigley, and Luke Quigley Jr.; Special Caregiver and Friend: Mary Crowder; and Loyal life companion: Carl Anderson. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
