Nannie Meadows Spivey

Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie B. Meadows Spivey, age 83, a resident of Whitleyville, TN, will be held Tuesday at 10 A.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Spivey passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 23, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Ernest and Rosa Gaines Meadows. On June 5, 1943, she was married to the late Guy Spivey, who passed away February 18, 1997. She was a retired factory worker, and a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Tom Meadows; and 1 Sister: Jean Sadler. Survivors include 1 Son: Garry "Bob" (Alesia) Spivey of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Sandy (Don) Lynch of Louisville, KY; Linda (Billy) Plant of Columbia, TN; Lois (Ned) Robertson of Port Allen, LA; and Carol (Jimmie) Dudney of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Eddie Meadows of Erwinville, LA; 1 Sister: Jewell Painter of Whitleyville, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Michael Robertson, Billy Plant III, Randy Spivey, Kristi Kinnard, Melissa Bourgeois, Stephanie Apple, Jeffrey Apple, and Karla Hensley; and 6 Great- Grandchildren: Paige, Neylan, Annabeth, Tobi, Cory, and Grant.
