Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy May Scott, 72, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born October 29, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Malcom Long and Bertha Long. On May 10, 1979, she was married to Jerry Scott, who survives. She was a factory worker, and enjoyed gardening. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Clifton Long and Bryan Long; and 2 Sisters: Pearl Smith and Peggy Scott. Survivors include her Husband: Jerry Scott of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Robert Scott of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Tammy Kernell of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Niki Kernell of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Great Grandchildren: Trent George and Kane Cobble. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Danny Scott will officiate at the services.
