Funeral services for MSG. Garrett Lee Martin, Retired, 67, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 P. M. - 9 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born February 24, 1940, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Leo Martin and Betty Hamlet Martin. He was married to Kathy Sue Martin, who survives. He was retired from the U.S. Army, where he served during the Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Gertrude Palk, Barbara Jane Flatt, and Shirley Gately; and 2 Brothers: Max Eugene Martin and Donnie Wayne Martin. Survivors include his Wife: Kathy Sue Martin of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Darren Lee Martin of Jackson County, TN, and David Christopher (Betsy) Martin of Baxter, TN; 1 Daughter: Donna (Mike) Coburn of Jackson County, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Jessica Candice (Brad) Arnold, Michael Christopher Coburn, Ashlynn Stout, and Tyler Martin; and 3 Sisters: Catherine Powers - Baich of Michigan, Ruthie Smallwood of Elmwood, TN, and Anna Sue Mahan of Baxter, TN. His Brother-in-Law, Shirley Jones, will officiate at the services.
