Morte Edward Owens was born March 14, 1959 in Kankakee, IL and he passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN at the age of 65.
He was the son of the late Charles Richard Owens and Nanette Catherine Trudeau Owens. He was an over the road truck driver. He married Shirley Marie Stafford on December 21, 1996. They were married over 27 years; however, they were together for over 37 years.
Morte was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Donald Charles Owens; mother-in-law: Lucy Stafford; grandparents: Morte Owens, Sarah Owens, Alphonse Trudeau, and Ethel Trudeau; and niece: Catherine Owens.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Marie Owens of Gainesboro, TN; daughter: Robin Perrin of Gainesboro, TN ; brother: Steve (Connie) Owens of Louisiana; sisters: Joanne Itoney of Gainesboro, TN, Charlene (Darrell) Phillips of Gainesboro, TN and Jean Owens; nieces: Shannon, Sarah, Casey and Christina Owens; grandchildren: Zacharey and Tyler Boles. Many other friends and relatives also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2 P.M. at Pharris Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will be officiating.
