Morgan Rhoten

Funeral services for Mr. Morgan Rhoten, 84, of Hilham, TN, will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 P.M. to 9 P.M., and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville, TN. He was born February 26, 1932, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Jake Rhoten and Zady Smith Rhoten. He was married to Geraldine Rhoten, who survives. He was in the timber and cattle business, and was a member of the Sugar Creek Church of Christ. He was a charter member of the Jackson County Rescue Squad, and did lots of charity work that helped many people. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife: Ruth Richardson Rhoten; 1 Daughter: Brenda Mae Rhoten; 1 Brother: Herman C. Rhoten; and 1 Sister: Betty L. Strong-Rueve. Survivors include his Wife: Geraldine Rhoten of Hilham, TN; 1 Son: Wayne (Jennifer) Rhoten of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Kim (Randy) Bailey of Cookeville, TN; 2 Step Daughters: Kathy (Jeff) Davis of Livingston, TN, and Debbie (Bill) Smith of Cookeville, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Josh (Katie) Hammock of Gainesboro, TN, and Kayla Hammock and Zach Crowson of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Step-Grandchildren: Brian (Emily) Morgan of Rickman, TN, Vickie (Steve) Gordon of Cookeville, TN, Amie (Brad) Halfacre of Cookeville, TN, and Holly Smith of Cookeville, TN; 7 Step Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Connor, and Colton Halfacre; Sydney Stacy, Callie Morgan, and Braxton Morgan; 2 Step Great Great Grandchildren: Blakley and Emmy Lou Stacy; and 1 Sister: Hennrietta Tomberlan of Burnsville, NC. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive. Bro. Mike Smith will officiate at the services.
