Funeral services for Mr. Morgan Allen, 82, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his residence. He was born February 13, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Hickman and Alice Haney Allen. On December 22, 1951, he was married to Annie Louise Allen, who survives. He was a factory worker at Nielsen & Bainbridge and was a member of the Zion Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Henry Lee Allen, Marlin Allen, and Fred Allen; and 3 Sisters: Alice Marie Allen, Margie Hamlet, and Louise Ramsey. Survivors include his Wife: Annie Louise Allen of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Donald M. Allen of Houston, TX; 1 Daughter: Wilma (Clay Allen Helm of Rocky Mount, NC; 1 Grandson: Nicholas Clay Helm of Raleigh, NC; and 1 Brother: Johnny Hugh Allen of Sparta, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers and food, memorial donations may be made to the children's library at the Zion Church of Christ by contacting the funeral home.
