Mildred Hensley Dennis

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Hensley Dennis, 87, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 7, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 - 9 P.M. and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mrs. Dennis passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN. She was born July 6, 1919, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Wade & Maggie Hensley. She was married to the late Cordell Dennis, who passed away on August 6, 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband: Cordell Dennis; her parents: Wade & Maggie Hensley; 1 Son: Jack Stanley Dennis; 1 Grandson: Scotty Lee Dennis; 4 Brothers: Dewey Hensley, Cordell Hensley, William A. Hensley, and an infant brother; and 2 Sisters: Lola B. Henson and Ara D. Strode. Survivors include 2 Sons: Bobby W. (Jean) Dennis of Gainesboro, TN and Billy M. (Linda) Dennis of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: June (Gene) Smith of Celina, TN; and 9 Grandchildren: Debbie Buckner, Denise McDowell, Dale Dennis, Danny Smith, Lisa Rich, Gina Key, Steve Dennis, Jeanetta Dennis, and Bradley Dennis. 14 Great- Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, 1 Step Great- Great Grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
