Memorial services for Mr. Michael James Dean, 61, of Smithville, Tennessee, will be held at 5 P.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Mr. Dean chose cremation. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was born November 6, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late William H. Dean and Alice M. Dean. He was a police officer for 36 years in San Diego, California, and also served with the U.S. Marshals. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Jennifer (Brad) Anderson of Cookeville, TN, and Janet Allen of Junction City, KS; 5 Grandchildren: Brady Anderson, Karly Anderson, Jessica Allen, Madisyn Allen, and Sophia Allen; and 2 Brothers: Mark (Margie) Dean of Idyllwild, CA, and Robert Dean of CA.
