Funeral services for Mr. Merlin C. Flatt, 59, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 30, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Highway in Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Flatt passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 29, 1948, in Putnam County, Tennessee, to Kathlean West Flatt and the late Bernice Flatt. He was a steel worker, and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his Father: Bernice Flatt; 4 Brothers: Larry E. Flatt, Dale Flatt, Tommy W. Flatt, and James Edward Flatt; 1 Sister: Marie Sue Flatt; Paternal Grandparents: Harvey and Lura Flatt; and Maternal Grandparents: James and Gladys West. Survivors include 1 Son: Chad (Ginger) Flatt of Livingston, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Chad Everett Lee Flatt, Dakota Storm Maxwell, and Cheyanne Nicole Flatt; his Mother: Kathlean West Flatt of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Bruce Flatt of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Carolyn (Robert) West of Bloomington Springs, TN.
