Melissa Dawn Thomas, better known as Missy, was born June 21, 1973 in Cookeville, TN and she passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 49.
She was the daughter of Barbara Thomas Stafford and the late Garry J. Thomas. She was a social worker, and attended the Center Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her Brother: Garry J. Thomas, Jr.
Survivors include her Mother: Barbara and (Mike) Stafford of Cookeville, TN; Brother: Shaun (Julie) Thomas of Gainesboro, TN; Step-brother: Matthew (Ashley) Stafford of Whitleyville, TN; Step-sister: Shawn (Randy) Spivey of Gainesboro, TN; Uncles: Bobby (Stella) Garrison, Larry, Lisa, Cody and Cayla Garrison; Aunt: Debbie (Elmer) Allen of Gainesboro, TN; Nieces and Nephew: Emma Thomas, Kristen Young, Kaitlyn Ward, and Caleb Young; Special second cousin: Jaxyn; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Alan Judd officiating. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation will be Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services.
