Max H. McWhorter

Max Howard McWhorter was born August 25, 1939, in Bremen, GA and he passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at his residence in Nashville at the age of 85.

Mr. McWhorter was the son of Cletis Clifford McWhorter and Ollie Arizona Rice.  He was a graphic designer for Lifeway Christian Resources  and a member of The Rising Church in Nashville. He was a veteran of the US Navy obtaining the rank of Lieutenant.  On August 18, 1962, he married Myrna Gail Pittman for a total of 62 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna McWhorter of Nashville; sons, McKinley Stewart McWhorter of Cataula, GA and Mead Asher McWhorter of Nashville; daughters: Morgan Olivia Miller of Cincinnati, OH, Morrow Janiece Braswell of Atoka, TN; sister, Martha Jones of Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Sarah Miller, David Miller, Stephen Miller, Olivia Miller, Chase McWhorter, Autum Meeds, Saane McWhorter, Katelyn McWhorter, Emory Braswell, Isaiah Braswell, Evan Braswell and Max Braswell; 4 great grandchildren along with other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation for Max will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at The Rising Church at Lincoya Hills in Nashville followed by a memorial service at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritans Purse, Wounded Warrior Project, or CARE (Crisis Pregnancy Center- Nashville)

A private graveside service will be held for family on Friday, March 7, at 12:30 pm at Granville Cemetery, 150 Holleman Bend Lane, Granville, Tn 38564
