Matilda Chaffin Craighead

Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Chaffin Craighead, 81, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Signature Health Care Center in Algood, TN. She was born May 8, 1938, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Norman Chaffin and Hattie Harris Chaffin. On March 28, 1959, she was married to the late Edd Roy Craighead, who passed away November 17, 2000. She worked as a bank teller, and was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Perry N. Chaffin; and 3 Sisters: Jamie Chaffin Hix, Mary Lucinda Chaffin Myers, and Velma Jo Norton. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Anita (Steve) Huddleston of Owensboro, KY, and Jeanette (Terry) Colson of Livingston, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Ross (Ashley) Grigg of Gainesboro, TN, and April Grigg of Cookeville, TN; 1 Great Grandchild: Cameron Grigg of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Geraldine (Jon) Collins of Portland, TN.
