Mary Sue Allen was born October 10, 1945, in Jackson County, Tennessee. She passed from this life on Thursday morning, February 22, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was 78 years old.
She was the daughter of Leonard B Pippin and Lola Mildred Chaffin Pippin. She married James Edward Allen on July 5, 1962. They were married for over 59 years prior to his passing on April 26, 2022. She was a factory worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: James Edward Allen; sisters: Pauline Allen and Shirley Ann Curtis.
Survivors include her son: James Leonard Allen of Cookeville, TN; Michelle (Jerry) Rhoten of Whitleyville, TN; Nicki (Tommy) Hicks of Gainesboro, TN; special grandson: Eric Allen; grandchildren: Travis Rhoten, Amanda (Marty) Scantland; Danielle Allen; Shana Jo Allen; Mary Beth Lynn; James Allen; Hunter (Jade Welch) Hicks; and Dylan (Hayley Way) Hicks; great grandchildren: Maylee Scantland; Saylor Rain Hicks; Lucas Lynn; and Jameka Lynn. Many other friends and relatives also survive.
Graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2 pm at the Allen Family Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will immediately follow. Bro. Lakelan Barham will be officiating.
