Mary Smith Morgan

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Smith Morgan, 78, of Hilham, TN, will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the New Hope Community Church in the New Hope community of Jackson County, TN. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at her residence. She was born February 18, 1939, in Overton County, TN, to the late Lloyd Smith and Delores Smith. On October 14, 1961, she was married to the late Donald Gene Morgan. She was the owner of Morgan Upholstery in Trotwood, Ohio, and a member of the New Hope Community Church. She loved watching and feeding her hummingbirds, and was very generous and loving. She loved her friends and family, and served in the U.S. Army. She loved the Lord, and was a great prayer warrior for her family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Herman Douglas Smith and an infant brother; and 1 Sister: Shirley Isaacs. Survivors include 1 Son: Ronald (Tina) Morgan of Tonopah, AZ; 2 Daughters: Robin (Bob) Phillips of New Straitsville, OH, and Angela Hicks of Brookville, OH; 5 Grandchildren: Amber (Tyler) Cooper, Brielle (Daniel) Slaton, Dusty, Andy, and Boston; 8 Great Grandchildren: Zac, Abi, Ashleigh, Braylon, Timothy, Logan, Kingsten, and Noah; 1 Brother: Bill Smith of Baxter, TN; and 2 Sisters: Nettie Morgan of Cookeville, TN, and Bettie Crowe of Texas. Bro. Phillip Morgan will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Church building fund by contacting the funeral home.
