Mary Ragland Rush

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Ragland Rush, 80, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 Noon - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Rush passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009, at NHC Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born October 3, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herbert Watson and Fronia Ann Vinson Ragland. On February 18, 1947, she was married to the late William McKinley "Doc" Rush, who passed away May 20, 1987. She was a teacher assistant at the former Fox Middle School, and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Mary Ann Allen; 3 Brothers: Ezell, Larry M., and Coy Ragland; 1 Brother-in-Law: Larry Robinson; her Mother-in-Law: May Carr Rush; and 1 Sister- in-Law and Brother-in-Law: Ann and John Augusto. Survivors include 2 Sons: William Herbert (Lorie) Rush of Clinton Township, MI, and Paul M. (Jackie) Rush of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Janet Jones of Gainesboro, TN, and Patsy Darnell (Danny) Welch of Monterey, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Ricky Dale Allen, Kimberly R. Allen, Christopher Robbins, Dusty Jones, Brad Jones, Nicholas Rush, and Aaron Joseph Welch; 5 Great Grandchildren: Samantha Allen, Anthony Allen, Tiffany Allen, Hannah Jones, and McKenna Jones; 4 Brothers: Haskell (Betty) Ragland, Ted (M.B.) Ragland, Ralph (Judy) Ragland, and Donnie (Sandy) Ragland, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Moydene Robinson of East Pointe, MI; and 2 Sisters-in-Law: Adelle Ragland of Granville, TN, and Faye Spivey Ragland of Gainesboro, TN.
