Mary Helen Flatt

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Helen Flatt, 84, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Monday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 26, 1932, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Luke Stafford and Elizabeth Stafford. On March 17, 1952, she was married to the late James E. Flatt, who passed away July 12, 2002. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Free State Church of Christ. She loved to quilt, write music, and taking care of her flowers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: James Daniel Flatt; 1 Sister: Aline Jenkins; and 1 Nephew: Bobby Jenkins. Survivors include 2 Sons: Ricky Flatt and George (Bonnie) Flatt, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Kathy Marie Flatt of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister-in-Law: Bunie (Ray) Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Brother-in-Law: Earl Jenkins of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Sam Mainord will officiate at the services.
