Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Emily Smith, 79, of Smyrna, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, January 15, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery in the Freewill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 11 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Smith passed away on Friday, January 12, 2007, at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. She was married to the late Campbell Edward Smith. She was born April 11, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herbert Lee (Herby) and Lillie Ann Wheeler Stafford. She was a cabinet shop worker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Daughters: Linda Louise Parker and Barbara Ann Smith; 2 Sisters: Lucille Wilson and Jetta Garrison; and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Sherry Smith. Survivors include 6 Sons: James Smith and Alvin Smith, both of Nashville, TN; William (Dena) Smith of Goodlettsville, TN; Charles Smith of Portland, TN; Roy (Susie) Smith, and Jack (Beverly) Smith, all of Smyrna, TN; 1 Daughter: Wanda (Terry) Burchett of Murfreesboro, TN; 3 Brothers: Johnny Ray Stafford and David Stafford, both of Gainesboro, TN; and Vestle Stafford of Carthage, TN; and 1 Sister: Jammie Hammons of Gainesboro, TN. 9 Grandchildren and 9 Great - Grandchildren also survive.
