Mary Ellis Locke

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellis Locke, 92, of the Big Bottom community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born August 21, 1917, in Jackson County, TN, to the late John Nathan and Laura Glover Ellis. On June 15, 1962, she was married to the late Andrew Bennett Locke. She was a retired factory employee, and a member of the Gibson Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Janie Collins; 4 Brothers: Odis, Bruce, Carl, and Clyde Ellis; and 3 Sisters: Rose Keeling, Bonnie Terry, and Zula Todd. Survivors include 1 Son: John (Lucille) Smith of Nashville, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Sandra (Tim) Smith, Tim (Brenda) Collins, and Mark (Terri) Collins, all of Gainesboro, TN; Charles (Judith) Smith of Chambersburg, PA; and Angela (Dale) Kittrell of Nashville, TN; 9 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
