Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Crabtree Strang, 88, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Aaron's Chapel Cemetery in Overton County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born October 27, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Morgan Murphy and Nannie Phillips Murphy. She was a retired factory worker, a writer of poems, and of the Church of Christ faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Lynn Rogers; 4 Brothers: Thurlow, Willard, Austin, and Lester Murphy; and 3 Sisters: Thelma Swan, Ruth Pennington, and Lois Smith Chaffin. Survivors include 1 Son: Ken Rogers of Hilham, TN; 1 Daughter: Patricia Stephenson of Cartersville, GA; 5 Grandchildren: Paul & Brian Rogers, Shana Townshend, Julia Rogers, and Andrea Rogers; 6 Great - Grandchildren: Stephanie, Jaylen, Casey, Jonathan, Graham, and Alana; 1 Great- Great Grandchild: Morgan; and 3 Sisters: Zanda Gentry of Cookeville, TN; Georgia Ouellette of Detroit, MI, and Betty Ragland of Gainesboro, TN.
