Funeral services for Mary Alice Pippin, 69, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, October 11, 2013, at Union Hill Church of Christ on Shepardsville Hwy. in Jackson County, TN. Burial will follow in the Union Hill - Flatt Cemetery in the Union Hill Community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and at the church on Friday from 11:30 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at her residence. She was born July 11, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to J. Fred Pippin and the late Mary Evelyn Way Pippin. She was a self-employed cosmetologist for 40 years at Carousel Beauty Salon. She worked for 8 years in real estate, and was a member of the Union Hill Church of Christ. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by James Kenneth Birdwell. Survivors include her Children: Sandra Melise Birdwell - Duncan, and James Kenneth Birdwell and wife, Jenny Birdwell; her Grandchildren: Dustin Spencer Birdwell and Chase Birdwell Duncan; her Father: J. Fred Pippin; her Sister: J. Kathy Pippin; and Special Friend: Anita Smith. Bro. Charles Maxwell will officiate at the services. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
