Marty L. Young

Marty L. Young of Crossville, Tn was born on July 15, 1965 to Hubert and Bonnie Young of Gainesboro, Tn. He passed away from cancer on March 22, 2022. He grew up in Gainesboro and lived there for most of his life. He grew up working hard on farms with his father and grandfather. As an adult he continued in seasonal farming and also factory work. Eventually he became a professional landscaper until an injury on the job caused him to become permanently disabled. He started a family at a young age and became a happy father to 3 boys. Wesley, Jason, and Daniel. At 33 he asked Jesus Christ to forgive him and save his soul at New Hope Baptist Church in 1998. He seemed to never meet a stranger as he was talkative and friendly with just about everyone he met. He especially loved to hear or tell stories for hours. He was always trying to make you smile and had a great smile himself along with a contagious laugh. He had a unique gift to help anyone see a bad situation from a better point of view. Even in the face of his own cancer diagnosis he stated that he was thankful to have lived a good life and was blessed with a beautiful loving family and was ready to meet his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ! He loved his wife Janice and his children and grandchildren dearly and never missed a opportunity to tell them so. He was greatly loved will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Bonnie, his siblings Marcel and Arlene and his son Daniel. He is survived by his wife Janice, his sons Wesley and Jason, his grandchildren: Kylie, Jordyn, Abigail, Jeremy, Jacob, Jesse, Arielle, Haylee, and his great grandson Emmet. Visitation will be Saturday March 26, 2022 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home on March 26, 2022 at 1:00PM with Bro. Jeff Edde of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating.
