Martha Christine Buck Williams

Martha Christine Buck Williams was born March 27, 1931 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 in The Pavilion Senior Living in Carthage at the age of 91.

She was the daughter of William Bedford and Mattie Bell Odum Buck.  She was an accounting clerk for General Motors in Dayton, OH for 20 years and a member of the Church of Christ.  She married David L. Williams on April 4, 1954 for a total of 68 years of marriage. After retiring they moved to Cookeville, TN, but spend their summers in northern, Minnesota where they enjoyed spending time at their lake cabin, fishing, canoeing and hiking.  She was a friend to many and was always thoughtful, kind and generous.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters,  Cleo Buck, Eva Golden Buck Smith, James Elmer Buck, Grace Buck Balsbaugh, Charlie Fred Buck, Lester Buck, Zula Buck Adkins and Irene Buck DeBarge.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Williams of Carthage; son, Jeffrey D. Williams of Tampa, Fl; daughter, Julie Williams Murray of Lebanon; grandchildren, Kelley Scot Neaves of Clayton, OH and Fawne Wilson of Edmond, OK; great grandchildren, Kaelyn Hild, Cole Hild, Avaree Wilson and Avionn Wilson.  Nieces and nephews along with other family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022 from 10:30 until 11 am with funeral services beginning at 11 am in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
