Funeral services for Martha Carter Harris, a resident of Nashville, TN, will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008, at 3:30 P.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 1:30 P.M. until time of services. Mrs. Harris passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was born in Granville, TN, to the late Henry and Alcie Ragland Carter. She was married to the late Herman Harrell Harris. She was a homemaker, and also worked in retail sales. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 4 Sisters: Bertie Neal, Ora Reynolds, Bertha Neal, and Pearly Harris; and 1 Brother: Ernest Dow Carter. Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Carter and Carol Anglin Harris of Joelton, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in- Law: Robbie and Dan Adcock of Nashville, TN; 3 Sisters: Magdalene Montgomery of Granville, TN; Carrie Vickers of Madison, TN; and Refa Nell Dretchen of Nashville, TN; and 3 Grandchildren: Elizabeth Lynn Drewry, Rachel Carter Harris, and Sarah Jane Adcock.
