Mark Dudney Carlisle

A celebration of life for Mr. Mark Dudney Carlisle, 64, of the Union Hill community of Clay County, TN, will be held at 6 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 25, 1953, in the Mt. Vernon community of Clay County, TN, to the late Harold Carlisle and Jewell Smith Carlisle. On June 3, 1976, he was married to Marie Anderson Carlisle, who survives. He was a retired pallet shop and sawmill owner, and served on the board at Twin Lakes Telephone. He was a member of the Tannehill Lodge, and enjoyed hiking and archaeology. He was a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ, and was a U.S. Army Ranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Mandi Conway; 1 Sister: Cheryl Focer; and his Father-in-Law: Leon Anderson. Survivors include his Wife: Marie Anderson Carlisle of the Union Hill community of Clay County, TN; his Children: Melanie (Michael) Rainey of Plant City, FL, Joseph Conway of Neosho, MO, Molly (John) Upchurch of Cookeville, TN, Marki (Chase) Brown of Cookeville, TN, Morgan (Kevin) Capps of Whitleyville, TN, and McKenzie Carlisle of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Mikey, Marissa, and Mallorie Rainey, Riley Conway, Emmett Brown, Megan Upchurch, and Gracie Upchurch; 1 Brother: John (Lynette) Carlisle of Red Boiling Springs, TN; 1 Sister: Tanna (Roger) Short of Celina, TN; his Brother-in-Law: Edward "Preacher" (Patty) Anderson of Gainesboro, TN; and his Mother-in-Law: Moline (W.C.) Howell of Gainesboro, TN. Other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Shane Smith will officiate at the services.
