Marion Sim Barlow

Funeral services for Mr. Marion Sim Barlow, 97, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. He was born November 21, 1915, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Dillard and Hattie Loftis Barlow. He was married to the late Jewell Carwile Barlow, who passed away on February 10, 2013. He worked in the maintenance department at Tennessee Tech University and for Carwile Construction. He was a member of the Fairview Free Methodist Church and served in United States Army during World War II. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Herbert and Haskell Barlow and 2 Sisters: Nannie Lawson and Margie Shehane. Survivors include his 1 Son: Billy (Betty Jean) Barlow of Dayton, Ohio; 1 Daughter: Betty Dillon of Dayton, Ohio; 3 Grandsons: Wayne (Tina) Dillon of Livingston, TN; Gary Dillon of Crossville, TN; and Jeff (Carolyn) Dillon of Dayton, Ohio; 5 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
