Marie Scott

Marie Scott was born September 24, 1949 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Mabry Healthcare and Rehab Center in Gainesboro at the age of 71. She was the daughter of Walter Pigg and Rosa Hix Pigg. She was married 26 years to Odell Scott. She was a member of the Harmony Church of Christ and a cafeteria worker at Mabry Healthcare and Rehab. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Kelly Brown, brothers, Grady and Robert (Bob) Pigg, sister-in-law, Peggy Pigg, nephew, Patrick Pigg, grandparents, Josh and Harriet Pigg, Alvin and Mary Hix. Survivors include husband, Odell Scott of Cookeville, daughter, Rhonda (Joe Young) Brown of Gainesboro; step-sons, Jeff (Lisa) Scott of Cookeville and Chris Scott of Gainesboro; step-daughter, Julie King of Livingston; sister-in-law, Reba Pigg of Cookeville, granddaughter, Kelly Jo Young of Gainesboro, step-grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Daniel Scott and Morgan Johnson, step great grandchild, Bailey Scott. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Visitation will be on Monday, August 23, 2021 2-8 pm and again on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 11 am to 3 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 3 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Dodson Branch Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Charles R. Holland Memorial Library or Dodson Branch Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
