Funeral services for Mrs. Magdalene C. Montgomery, 89, of Granville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Granville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1923, in Granville, Tennessee, to the late Henry Carter and Alcie Carter. She was married to the late David Montgomery. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Granville United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Larry and Pam Montgomery; 1 Brother: Dow Carter; 6 Sisters: Carrie Vickers, Ora Reynolds, Bertie Neal, Pearly Harris, Bertha Neal, and Martha Harris; and 1 Great-Grandchild: Thomas Elliot Hibbs. Survivors include 1 Grandson: David and Kim Montgomery of Monterey, TN; 2 Granddaughters: Jane Montgomery of Cookeville, TN, and Emily and Chris Hibbs of Livingston, TN; 5 Great - Grandchildren: Madye Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Braxton Hibbs, Logan Montgomery, and an expected arrival in November; and 1 Sister: Trixie Dretchen of Nashville, TN.
