Mack David Alexander

Funeral services for Mr. Mack David Alexander, 65, of Sparta, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Putnam County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 P. M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 12 Noon until time of services. Mr. Alexander passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2007, at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville, TN. He was born August 6, 1942, in Davidson County, TN, to Betty McMillen Harbin and the late Austin Alexander. On May 28, 1983, he was married to Wanda S. Alexander, who survives. He was a truck and tour bus driver, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father: Elbert Harbin. Survivors include his wife: Wanda S. Alexander of Sparta, TN; 4 Daughters: Jackie Crow of Nashville, TN; Laura (Johnnie) Grogan of Cookeville, TN; Vickie Whited of Nashville, TN; and Lora (Doug) Hicks of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sons-in-Law: Troy Crow of Nashville, TN, and Randy Whited of Pleasant View, TN; his mother: Betty McMillen Harbin of Nashville, TN; 1 Brother: Glen Harbin of Dickson, TN; 2 Sisters: Wanda Bowman of Nashville, TN, and Mary Etta Thomas of Watertown, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Brandon and Heather Whited, Toni and Tori Carmack, and Elizabeth and Allison Grogan; and 1 Sister- in-law and Brother-in-law: Mary and Earl Bean of Cookeville, TN.
