Funeral services for Mr. Luther Harlen "Jamup" Gibbons, 81, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 Noon to 9 P.M., and on Sunday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born May 22, 1934, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Virgil Gibbons and Anna Gertrude Smith Gibbons. He was married to the late Mary Juanita Gibbons. He was a roofer, and a member of the Cummins Mill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: William Thomas Gibbons; 2 Daughters: Patsy Lee Gibbons and Anita Gibbons Ballard; 3 Brothers: Edd Gibbons, Luke Gibbons, and Bud Gibbons; and 2 Sisters: Gladys Dailey and Beatrice Gibbons. Survivors include 1 Son: James H. Gibbons and fiance, Andrea Keltner of Cookeville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer Ballard, Amber D. Gibbons, Samantha Gipson, Austen Eury, Alyxandria Eury, and Dani Eury; 4 Great Grandchildren: Ali A. Alshawi, Faith C. Alshawi, Grayson Gipson, and Brentley Gipson; 1 Son-in-Law: Danny Ballard of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Bruce Gibbons of Dayton, OH; 2 Sisters: Irene Mathis of Dayton, OH, and Betty Dunn of Dayton, OH; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Carol Dailey Lawton of Cookeville, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Ronnie Dunn and Bro. Quentin Lee will officiate at the services.
