Luther Hammock

Funeral services for Mr. Luther Hammock, 81, of Hilham, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. and Sunday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Hammock passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009, at Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, TN. He was born May 4, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Titus and Louisa Greenwood Hammock. He was a truck driver for the Jackson County Highway Department, and a farmer. He was a member of the Old Antioch Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Kaitlin Sevier; 5 Brothers: Elmer, John B., Mitchell, and Arvil Hammock, and 1 infant brother; 3 Sisters: Della Mace and 2 infant sisters; and 1 Half-Sister: Annie Boles. Survivors include 1 Son: Jerry Smith of Willow Springs, MO; 2 Daughters: Carol Sevier of Gainesboro, TN, and Angela Hammock Beach of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Kristin Sevier, Kelly Smith, and Robin Shepard; 3 Great- Grandchildren: Katlyn Smith, Melissa Smith, and Jeremiah Shepard; 1 Sister: Ova Barlow of Hilham, TN; and his Caregiver & Best Friend - Great Niece: Kathy Dailey of Hilham, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Rev. Ulis Hammock and Rev. Ricky Carr will officiate at the services.
